Concept Creation
How It Started
During my internship, I injured myself at work and had to apply a bandage using only one hand. The process was difficult and frustrating. Later, when I needed to reapply the bandage, I faced the same challenge again. This repeated experience highlighted the difficulty of self-treatment with one hand and became the starting point for developing this project.
Problem Definition
Applying a compression bandage traditionally requires multiple steps. These tasks are designed for two-handed use and become significantly more difficult when only one hand is available.

Literature Review
This study focuses on how small-to-medium injuries (cuts, abrasions, and minor burns) heal most effectively using modern wound-care principles. Research shows that wounds heal better in a clean, protected, and moist environment rather than being left exposed.
Wound healing occurs in four stages: hemostasis, inflammation, proliferation, and remodeling, all of which are influenced by the wound environment created by the dressing.
A key concept is moist wound healing, where occlusive or semi-occlusive dressings help speed up recovery, reduce infection risk, and improve comfort.
Different injuries require different dressing types depending on moisture level, depth, and exudate, meaning there is no single universal bandage solution.

Product Interior Analysis
The interior analysis shows how the product’s internal components work together to dispense both bandage material and double-sided adhesive tape. The bandage roll is placed on the main spool and feeds through the lower opening, where it can be pulled out and applied. The adhesive tape is stored on a separate roll and guided through a system of gears and rollers, which controls its movement and separates the used adhesive from the backing material. This internal mechanism allows both materials to be stored and dispensed within one compact device while keeping the operation simple and efficient.
